In 1998, we initialized a partnership as a marine consultant with Danish wind turbine manufacturer Bonus Energy (now acquired by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy). In this partnership, we assisted in the development and designing of various transport equipment used for sea transport. In relation to this, we attended as marine warranty surveyors during wind turbine shipments on behalf of Bonus Energy and their cargo underwriters Codan.

In 2001, our collaboration with the wind energy sector developed further, as we commenced involvement with the wind turbine manufacturer NEG MICON (now acquired by Vestas Wind Systems). Once again, we assisted in developing transport equipment for sea transport. Furthermore, we assisted with issuing guidelines for manuals for stowage, lashing, and securing the equipment. Here, we also attended marine warranty surveyors on wind turbine shipments on behalf of NEG MICON and their cargo underwriters If Insurance.

2006 was an especially noteworthy year for Esbjerg Survey, as we established our branch office in Lianyungang, China, shortly followed by the Shanghai office. Currently, our China office employs 10 highly skilled staff members including 9 surveyors that cover the entirety of China and the Far East.

During 2010 and onwards our development continued as our staff continued to be further educated on topics and areas of particular relevance to their work. Hence, we were proud to become eCMID Accredited Inspectors in 2011 and acquire our ISO 9001, 14001, and 21001 certifications in 2020.

Since 2010, we have conducted over 6650 surveys across the world, 3000 of those being within the last five years. Thus, our expertise continues to grow on a daily basis as we observe and learn from each individual case we are presented with.
